One megawatt plant Molten Carbonate fuel cell is about $2.5 million but prices are getting lower.
New Hydrogen-based Molten Carbonate fuel cells are very efficient and can convert the chemical energy of the fuel into electrical energy with a 50 percent electrical efficiency rate and some of the lost is in heat. But for example one gas turbine has a 20 percent efficiency rate.
This will be a very effective technology when it goes into full production.
